US: World’s largest antitrust conference to see record crowds

 |  April 9, 2013

In what planners are calling the world’s largest antitrust conference to date, a record number of guests are expected at the American Bar Association’s antitrust section spring meeting this week, held in DC two blocks from the White House. Organizers have reported 2,645 individuals who have already signed up to attend the event, which will last from Tuesday through Friday this week; that number is up from 2,480 at the same time last year, making this the largest year for the event to date. According to reports, the excitement may be due to two major appearances this year: the new head of the Justice Department’s Antitrust Division William Baer, as well as the new Federal Trade Commission chairwoman Edith Ramirez, are both slated to appear before the Bar.
