Vietnam: Synchronized mobile fee hikes sound alarm bells

    Vinaphone, MobiFone and Viettel announced plans last weekend to up service fees by 40 percent; the three companies together control more than 97 percent of the market.

    According to a Pham and Associates Law Office lawyer, the operators’ announcement is “abnormal” and says competition regulators should probe the matter. The three operators, however, deny allegations of collusion.
