Ferris assumes the role of co-leader alongside Maureen Ohlhausen, former FTC Acting Chair and Commissioner, who joined the firm earlier in January 2024. Doug Clark, managing partner at Wilson Sonsini, said Ferris’ and McDonald’s return aligns with the firm’s commitment to expanding its antitrust practice and leveraging the expertise of former agency officials to meet customer demands.

Also returning to the firm is Brent Snyder as head of the Regulatory Department, who brings a wealth of experience from his tenure as the highest-ranking criminal antitrust enforcement attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ).

Wilson Sonsini’s new antitrust hires reflect the firm’s focus on comprehensive legal counsel amidst evolving regulatory frameworks. With Ferris and McDonald’s return, alongside the recent addition of prominent figures like Ohlhausen, Snyder, and Taylor Owings, the firm seeks to respond to a changing and complex antitrust landscape.
