US: Costco accuses J&J Vision of price fixing

Johnson & Johnson ’s Vision Care was accused by Costco of causing the retailer’s customers to pay higher prices for the eye company’s contact lenses according to The Wall Street Journal.

    Costco in March filed a complaint against Johnson & Johnson, which revealed the suit late Friday in its quarterly report to the Securities and Exchange Commission.

    According to Costco’s suit, the alleged agreements have harmed competition by forcing the wholesaler’s customers to pay more for J&J contact lenses. The retailer is seeking monetary damages, J&J said, and the complaint is in the U.S. District Court of the Northern District of California.
