Bank Of America Experiences Online, Mobile Outage
Bank of America's online and mobile banking platforms were unavailable for nearly 10 hours on Friday, February 1, according to American Banker.
The system outages were reportedly due to internal system errors and not an outside attack, such as the DDoS attack that affected Bank of America in December 2012. Last week, the Al-Qassam Cyber Fighters, who claimed to be behind the DDoS attacks launched against BoA and other U.S. banks, said they would temporarily halt their attacks.
BoA debit and credit cards remained functional throughout the outage, and BoA says no account information was compromised.
