Loop mWallet Now Available For Android Users

Good news for Android users looking for a mWallet that can be used at pretty much any location a credit card can, Loop is now available in the Google Play store.

“Many Android users have registered on the wait-list for the Android version of the LoopWallet app. They can now download it and set up a smart wallet account to safely store and use their digital cards almost everywhere,” said Will Graylin, CEO of Loop in a released statement.

The new Loop for Android will, like its iOS counterpart, work in conjunction with the Loop Fob- which interested parties can order for $39. The time of the fob may be coming to and end, however, as the company announced along with the release of the Android phone that it is working with OEM’s to embed its patented technology directly into a variety of products including smartphones and smart watches in 2015. The company is also planning on rolling out several Loop Ready products throughout the course of the year.

“Payment is not the only thing a smart wallet should do, but it is the foundation and must work at more than 80-percent of the places we shop. If not, consumers will simply continue using plastic. With Loop having solved the biggest problem facing mobile wallets to date – payment acceptance – we can now build all kinds of value-added features on that foundation to provide even smarter and safer commerce experiences for consumers, and for merchants and card issuers,” Graylin further noted.
