Mandatory B2G eInvoicing Hits Moldova

Starting September 1, B2G eInvoicing will be a requirement in Moldova. According to E-Invoicing Platform, the technological step is being taken to limit the risk of corruption in the procurement process, increase transparency of public institutions and reduce Moldovan companies’ administrative costs.

Moreover, the nation’s government hopes that the transformation is able to promote the “e-invoice” within public institutions. Ideally, this will cause a spill over effect by private companies with which public institutions have or may have business relationships, the news source said.

Moldova is joining an increasingly long list of countries that are making the switch to eInvoicing. Last week, PYMNTS.com reported how Mexico’s eInvoicing shot up by 300 percent in just six months. While eInvoicing has existed in Mexico for the last 10 years, the recent jump was attributed to global advances in eInvoicing, as well as a leading global supplier of high-quality chocolate and cocoa products, announced that he had selected Invoiceware International to lower the cost of implementing and maintaining electronic invoicing in both Mexico and Chile.
