Waste Management Firm Goes Digital With Invoicing Options

Sustainable waste management and renewable energy firm Covanta announced last week that it had selected eInvoicing and procure to pay company Transcepta to help it eliminate paper invoices.

According to a Transcepta press release, Covanta wanted to improve its accounts payable process and connect to suppliers electronically. Transcepta will provide Covanta with “a win/win solution” that helps its suppliers and eliminates paper-based invoice processing, Covanta Manager of Accounts Payable Lori Nallen said.

“Automation will enable us to better utilize existing resources by working smarter, not harder,” Nallen added.

Moreover, Covanta explained that it wanted to move its suppliers to e-Invoicing, while also eliminating paper and leveraging existing investments for complete AP automation.

Along similar lines, a global engineering firm announced on July 30 that it chose to integrate eInvoicing options as well by choosing technologies from the smart process applications company Kofax. The engineering company was not named, but said that it estimates it will achieve a 25 percent cost savings by not outsourcing its invoice processing.
