In February we learned that Union Square Ventures had stepped up as lead investor on a $5 million round of Series B financing for Dwolla, the Iowa-based payments network that charges relatively low fees for payment processing.

This week, CEO Ben Milne revealed the identity of another, arguably much more recognizable investor: actor Ashton Kutcher.

Neither Kutcher nor Milne disclosed the exact size of the investment committed by A-Grade Investments, the celebrity’s investment firm. But Milne did tell the Associated Press that Kutcher’s influence has ““shown up in the product already in a million different ways.”

Beyond his notoriety as an actor, Kutcher boasts a monumental following through social media. His Twitter account, @aplusk, is followed by more than 10 million users, and his Facebook profile has attracted more than 12 million fans.
