Romania: Regulator analyzes takeover of Electroplast by Roca Platform

Romania’s Competition Council announced on Tuesday, July 9, that it was analyzing the transaction by which Roca Platform company, specialized in services for revitalization of Romanian business, took over the Romanian electric cable manufacturer Electroplast.

    At the end of June, Roca announced it had become the largest shareholder of Electroplast.

    “According to provisions of the Competition Law (no.21/1996), this operation is an economic concentration which exceeds value thresholds established by law, being submitted to control of the Competition Council. The latter will evaluate this economic concentration to establish its compatibility with a normal competition environment and will issue a decision according to the law,” the authority stated on Tuesday.

    Roca Platform is a company offering services to Romanian companies, for creating new brands and brand reconditioning, through investments in companies with difficulties and ensuring specialized management.
