Patrick Bradford, formerly a litigation partner with the US law firm Davis Polk & Wardwell, has joined the partnership of Pierce Bainbridge Price & Hecht in its New York office. Mr. Bradford is a complex commercial litigator who practiced at Davis Polk for almost twenty years and was the first African-American at the firm to be elected as an equity partner in the firm’s then 149-year history. His specialty areas include antitrust, securities enforcement, corporate investigations, and international Foreign Corrupt Practices Act matters.
Over the course of his career, Patrick represented Benckiser before the Federal Trade Commission in connection with the company’s US$3.5 billion merger with Reckitt & Coleman and Deutsche Post in connection with the company’s US$1.14 billion merger with Air Express International. Patrick also represented Banc of America Securities in connection with SEC and FINRA investigations of the bank’s issuance of equity research reports. He represented the audit committee of Repsol in connection with an investigation of the reduction of proved oil reserves and Siemens in connection with a Department of Justice FCPA investigation of the company’s proposed sale of a US$1 billion subsidiary.
At Pierce Bainbridge, Mr. Bradford will continue to work on complex business cases and corporate investigations. “Patrick’s diverse practice, wealth of experience, and track record of success nicely complements our formidable capabilities in New York and beyond,” said David L. Hecht, co-managing partner of the firm’s New York office. “We could not be more thrilled to welcome Patrick to the firm.”
