US: New York pushes back decision on Comcast/TWC

As the Federal Communications Commission and Department of Justice continue their investigations into Comcast’s $45.2 billion plans to acquire Time Warner Cable, New York has decided that it needs more time for its own review of the merger.

    In a court filing made Wednesday, the two cable companies agreed to the state’s request to extend its deadline on the ruling. Comcast and Time Warner Cable required, however, that New York makes a decision by the end of the year.

    The state’s Public Service Commission is currently reviewing the takeover and met Thursday to continue the debate; the Commission had previously set a deadline of November 13.
