Canada/US: Wireless startup confirms Verizon’s possible entry into Canada

Wireless startup company Mobilicity confirmed to reporters this week that it has been in talks with major carriers, including US-based Verizon Communications, about a possible buyout deal. An unnamed source told media that Verizon was looking to enter the Canadian market, a rumor Mobilicity – legally known as Data & Audio-Visual Enterprises Holdings Inc – has now confirmed, though nothing has been finalized. Further, reports say the startup has temporarily halted recapitalization plans in light of the discussions about a possible acquisition.
