Spain’s National Competition Commission has fined two iron wholesalers’ assocations, the Extremadura Iron Wholesalers’ Association [Asociación de Almacenistas de Hierro de Extremadura (AAHE)] and the Union of Iron Wholesalers of Spain [Unión de Almacenistas de Hierro de España (UAHE)], for collusion and price-fixing.
Upon investigation, the CNC found that the parties fixed the prices of iron and steel products marketed by AAHE members. AAHE and UAHE have been fined 250,000 euros each for violating Article 1 of the 1989 Competition Act and Article 101 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union.
