HP’s PET and plastic asset acquisition by Visy will not be opposed by ACCC

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission will not oppose the acquisition of HP’s PET and plastic assets by Visy. Through market inquiries, the ACCC found that sufficient alternatives for PET and plastic container suppliers existed in the market. Although the competitors are not as large as HP or the Pact Group, they had the ability to expand. Moreover, some market participants are considering or already self-manufacturing PET and plastic container requirements.
