Matheus acts in the competition and antitrust area, representing clients before the Administrative Council of Economic Defense (Cade), the Brazilian competition authority. He assists clients in the submission of transactions subject to Cade’s review, represents clients in investigations of anticompetitive conducts opened by Cade, reviewing the adequacy of commercial policies and practices to the competition law, and in the development of antitrust compliance programs. Matheus also assists clients in negotiating agreements with the authority. Before joining the VMCA, he worked for 7 years in BMA Advogados, assisting clients in several complex M&A cases and investigations of anticompetitive conducts. He was also an intern at Ragazzo Advogados.
