Bulgaria’s Antitrust Regulator Stops United Star Probe

The Bulgarian competition authority announced on Tuesday that it has ended its inquiry into the intended purchase of Prime Holding, a Bulgarian software developer, by United Star Software Ltd, an Ireland-based company.

    The Commission on Protection of Competition announced that they took action on a request made by United Star Software in late April.

    United Star Software notified the CPC of a change in transaction intentions, while the Bulgarian antitrust watchdog initiated an inquiry in late March.

    United Star is a holding company with the aim of acquiring control of software-developing firms in Central and Southeastern Europe. Currently, the company has not been involved in any activities in Bulgaria.

    Prime Holding is a software development outsourcing company located in Plovdiv. They provide services to both domestic and international firms.

    The 11th Circuit acknowledged that Corellium’s use of iOS was fair and that their software provides additional capabilities that aid security researchers in ways that physical iPhones cannot.
