DOJ Promotes Kumar To Acting Head Of Criminal Antitrust Enforcement

The Justice Department’s antitrust division is promoting Manish Kumar, the chief of its San Francisco office, to acting head of criminal enforcement.

    Kumar, a 13-year DOJ veteran, who will be based in the DOJ’s headquarters in Washington, D.C., will fill the role vacated by Richard Powers, according to a person familiar with the matter. Powers, a longtime department official, left in September to join Big Law firm Fried Frank.

    Acting Deputy Assistant Attorney General Marvin Price Jr. has been filling in on a temporary basis after Powers’ departure.
