EU: Commission clears union of US tech cos

The European Commission has announced its approval of a merger between US-based technology companies Honeywell and Intermec. Honeywell, which specializes in home technologies, will acquire Intermec, which manufactures barcode scanners and computers designed to operate in harsh environments; financial details of the deal were not disclosed in a press release from the European Commission. According to a statement from the regulator, a review did not find cause for competition concern following the completion of the transaction.
