Greece approves merger between country’s second and third-largest lenders

Greece’s Competition Commission conditionally approved the proposed merger of Alpha Bank (Greece’s second-largest lender) and Eurobank (Greece’s third-largest lander). The merger will allow banks to pool resources to help the country manage the current debt crisis.
