South Africa: Nestle told to sell baby formula patent to third party to buy Pfizer division

According to a news brief, South African regulators are reportedly recommending that Nestle sell its baby formula license for 20 years to a third party in order to ease competition concerns in its plans to acquire Pfizer’s baby nutrition division. The formulas whose patents are sold would also need to be sold under a different brand, reportedly to prevent price increases. Nestle has apparently accepted these requirements.
