Mahou San Miguel, one of Spain’s leading brewers, has reached a preliminary agreement to buy 74% of shares in the Valencia-based Cermadis distribution company. The operation is still awaiting approval from competition regulators CNMC.

    The Spanish brewer’s move is seen as a bid to break into the local market around Valencia, which is considered a vital step in increasing its national presence. Cermadis employs over 80 people, including delivery, sales and administrative staff, with over 50 delivery vehicles with wide range and capacity.
