
The Federal Council appointed Laura Melusine Baudenbacher President of the Competition Commission. As of January 1, 2023, the lawyer, who has a doctorate, will succeed Andreas Heinemann, who is resigning due to the term limit.
Laura Melusine Baudenbacher has profound knowledge of antitrust law on a national and international level with reference to the two leading antitrust systems, the EU and the USA. With this broad knowledge, she has the tools to lead the Competition Commission and to effectively represent the Swiss point of view in international bodies.
