U.S.: Federal District Court judge upholds Morgan Stanley fine for electricity price-fixing scam

Federal District Court Judge Pauley has upheld a $4.8 million fine against Morgan Stanley for creating a complex derivatives deal between the utility KeySpanCorporation and its nominal competitor, Astoria Generating Company, enabling KeySpan to keep electricity rates high and profit illegally.
