Eurotunnel, which late last week said it was blindsided by a ruling by the Competition and Markets Authority ordering the ferry servicer to cease operations on certain routes, has defiantly published its MyFerryLink schedule for the rest of the year, according to reports.
The CMA gave Eurotunnel six months to end operations between Dover and Calais after regulators found the company holds too much market share in the popular route. The CMA’s ruling follows an order by the former Competition Commission that ordered a similar cease of operation.
When the Competition Appeal Tribunal ordered the Commission to reexamine its decision, the CMA, which took over for the Commission in April, maintained the ruling.
Eurotunnel said it vows to appeal. Now, say reports, the company has published its schedule for the rest of the year as it pursues those appeal plans.
Eurotunnel obtained assets from now-defunct rival SeaFrance. In question was whether those assets constituted merely ferry ships or an entire business.
