US: Reed Smith antitrust member wins global management job

The former chairman of Reed Smith’s litigation department has beat out the competition to become the law firm’s next global managing partner, reports say.

    Alexander Y. Thomas scored the new position, beating out Philadelphia-based partner John Martini.

    Thomas is based in Washington and focuses in antitrust matters at the firm. As Reed Smith’s new global managing partner, Thomas will serve the position for three years starting in October.

    The position was left vacant by Gregory B. Jordan, who lest the firm to join PNC Financial Services Group as general counsel, reports say.
