Basware Strikes Again In Finland

Western Europe is one of the most advanced regions on the planet when it comes to e-invoicing and digital procurement adoption. Government mandates to shift procurement efforts online has been key to this trend, and e-invoicing service provider Basware has played a role with several European governments and businesses to implement these programs.

On Wednesday (July 1), the firm announced its latest partnership in Europe. Basware will work with a major media corporation in Finland to migrate their procurement and invoicing practices into the digital realm. The company, which went unnamed, will deploy Basware’s cloud-based Alusta platform, the firm revealed.

“More and more companies understand the benefits from automating the procurement process,” said Basware Corporation CEO Esa Tihilä in a statement, adding that the firm allows complete automation of all procurement practices, from sourcing to invoice settlement. Plus, users gain access to Basware Analytics to provide clearer visibility into corporate procurement and spending.

According to the announcement, the Finnish company will also obtain supplier services, Basware Analytics, and contract management through the partnership, a five-year agreement that amounts to more than $2 million.

Last month, Basware first entered Finland with a similar partnership for another unnamed company, though it was reported to be a public service center. That deal also included SaaS and electronic invoice automation tools through the Alusta platform.

Previosly, the company had struck a deal with the Belgian government to provide digital procurement services between federal entities and public suppliers.

In addition to globe-trotting, Basware has also been building up its B2B billing services. Just last week the company revealed a new venture that involves the company’s solutions becoming compatible with mobile devices for the purpose of travel and expense management.
