In efforts to conclude a class action against the company, supply transport company Panalpina has reportedly entered into a preliminary settlement agreement in a case that accuses the firm of anticompetitive surcharges.
The company was named as a defendant, along with other transport companies, in a class action filed following findings by the US Department of Justice that the companies, which transport materials via freight and air, of anticompetitive surcharges imposed on international air transport forwarding services.
The case was settled with the DOJ in 2010, reports say, but the class action, filed in 2008, continues.
Now, Palpina has reportedly offered $35 million to settle the suit. The settlement remains subject to court approval.
