As the EU’s telecommunications chief Neelie Kroes readies to present major overhauls to the EU’s telco industry Today, two officials told reporters Tuesday the Commission has officially backed the reforms.
According to Reuters, which claims to have seen a draft of the reforms, the overhauls include doing away with roaming charges, investing in wireless infrastructure, improving customer protections and other changes.

Until then, one EU official, who asked to remain anonymous, told reporters that the “majority of commissioners” have cleared the reforms.
