As Mexico’s antitrust regulator, the Federal Competition Commission, reviews what critics have deemed as an anticompetitive agreement between beer giants Heineken NV and Grupo Modelo SAB, reports say the regulators have now extended its review deadline by 15 days. The CFC is looking into whether the two companies’ agreements for exclusive beer distribution are anticompetitive, and announced the extended deadline on its website. As such, the regulator is now expected to make a final ruling on the case by the end of the month. A Barclays Plc analysis of Mexico’s beer market.
