US: Regs refuse to let eBay off the hook

Federal regulators on Friday have announced they will fight a motion filed by eBay to dismiss and antitrust case concerning eBay’s alleged “no-hire” and “no-solicit” agreements made with TurboTak-maker Intuit. The online bidding retail company was sued by regulators over the agreements in 2012, alleging that the company partook in the agreements to prevent losing engineers and scientists from 2006 to 2009. Regulators called the agreement “a truce in ‘The War for Talent.’” Court documents claim eBay eventually agreed to not hire Intuit employees altogether, a policy that hampers competition.
