The lawyers who worked for a $7.25 billion settlement for retailers in a case regarding allegations of inflated swipe fees by Visa Inc. and MasterCard Inc. are reportedly requesting $720 million in attorneys fees. If approved, the fees would be some of the highest in US history. The firms that have requested the fees on Friday are Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi; Berger & Montague; and Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd. According to reports, the firms have requested such a high amount due to the similarly massive amount of the settlement as well as the complexity of the case.
