US: Positive effects of eBooks settlement already showing

In the aftermath of a recent lawsuit settlement between the US Department of Justice and several eBook publishers, an Amazon spokesperson said Kindle owners could now look forward to lower eBook prices. Since, it seems the prediction has proven to be right – this week marked the lowest prices for eBooks in months since retailers gained control of pricing after the lawsuit. According to reports, the average price for a top-25 eBook is at $8.09, down from $11.79 seen last October when eBook prices last increased.
