U.K.: OFT expected to clear Edmundson/Electric Center merger

The OFT is expected to officially approve a proposed merger between Edmundson Electrical and Electric Center. The Office of Fair Trading had initially reviewed concerns over four local areas but has found no cause for competition concern. To avoid a Commerce Commission review, Edmundson had agreed to sell four of its branches in England and Scotland; Abbey Cross Trading Ltd. has been the proposed buyer of the four branches.
