The European Commission has cleared Molson Coors’ proposed acquisition of StarBev. Beer brands under U.S.-based Molson Coors include Blue Moon, Miller High Life, and Coors Light. StarBev brews and distributes beer in eastern Europe.
The two companies have overlapping activities in the U.K. beer market. However, the Commission found that the acquisition would not significantly change the market structure because of the parties’ low market shares and the competition posed by rivals.
