Apollo’s acquisition of Taminco approved

The European Commission has approved the acquisition of Taminco by Apollo. Taminco is a Belgian manufacturer of alkylamines and derivatives; Apollo is a US-based private equity fund. After investigation, the Commission found that Taminco’s activities do not overlap with any other Apollo-controlled company’s activities. Furthermore, although a vertical relationship would be created for the Taminco-created input of methylamine, the merged entity would continue to face competition from other methylamine suppliers.
