Australia: Beer giants accused of trying to limit boutique brewers

The competition watchdog will investigate claims Australia’s top brewers are squeezing out their craft competitors with kickbacks and exclusivity contracts they annouced on Wednesday.

Consumer advocate group Choice has revealed alleged tactics used by two of Australia’s biggest beer companies in an attempt to squeeze craft breweries out of the $13 billion-a-year industry.

The two biggest beer companies wants an even bigger share and is trying to lock competitors out of bars and pubs by using exclusivity contracts and kickbacks.
