Queensland political party KAP, the Katter’s Australian Party, is speaking out against the state’s Competition Commission and its failure to reign in rising electricity prices, say reports.
KAP State President Shane Paulger, a dairy farmer, says that former and present government policies have pushed both home and farm electricity costs beyond reach, blasting rival parties the ALP and the LNP as “directly responsible for the extraordinary cost of living increases.”
Specifically, the KAP said that the Queensland Competition Commission is operating under a dysfunctional policy; Paulger has called for the Commission to be entirely scrapped.
”It was the QCC that allowed the latest 21pc jump in electricity prices with more to come when power generation is sold to overseas companies,” Paulger said.
