Canada: Taxes funded projects of bid-rigging scheme

New information has been brought to light about a longstanding case against alleged bid-rigging within Quebec construction contracts: taxpayers’ money funded some of the projects in the accused corruption scheme. Ninety-one contracts have been under review for the alleged bid-rigging by a city official and a construction boss; at least 15 were found to have been at least partially funded by tax dollars, ranging from $200,000 to $700,000.
