CNC opens formal proceedings against Andalusian cotton gin companies for price-fixing
The Investigations Divisions of the CNC has opened formal proceedings against six cotton gin companies from AndaluciÌa for possible price-fixing. Acting upon a complaint by the Union of Small Farmers and Cattle Breeders of AndaluciÌa (UnioÌn de Pequeños Agricultores y Ganaderos de AndaluciÌa – UPA-AndaluciÌa), the CNC found prima facie evidence of price-fixing agreements entered into with cotton producers.
The six companies are: Algodonera del Sur, S.A. (ALGOSUR), Desarrollo y Aplicaciones FitoteÌcnicas, S.A. (DAFISA), Eurosemillas S.A., Industria desmotadora andaluza, S.L. (INDESA) and Colectivo Algodoneras del Sur de AndaluciÌa, S.L. (COALSA).
