EC investigating La Rochelle airport to see if it received incompatible state aid

The European Commission has opened an in-depth investigation to determine if France’s La Rochelle airport has received incompatible state aid. La Rochelle airport is operated by the Chamber of Commerce, which received approximately €3 million in public subsidies between 2002 and 2005. The Commission is looking into financial arrangements, rebates, and marketing agreements between public authorities, the airport, and airlines.
