EU: Aer Lingus repeats opposition to buyout attempt by Ryanair

The Aer Lingus Chief Executive has reiterated that shareholders should reject Ryanair’s third attempt to buy the Irish airliner. Chief Executive Christoph Mueller reportedly sent a memo to staff outlining the history of those three attempts by Ryanair, as well as the current bid under investigation by the European Commission. Ryanair has reportedly submitted a “remedy package” to the Commission. The investigation is scheduled for completion by February 27, according to reports.
