Chinese technology giant Huawei has reportedly pulled its antitrust complaint against InterDigital regarding patent licensing, effectively closing the matter, say reports.
Huawei has reportedly retracted its original allegations against InterDigital in a notice to the European Commission last month. The complaint accused InterDigital of refusing to license standard essential wireless patents to the Chinese rival.
The case, which first began with Huawei’s complaint in 2012, ended when the companies reached a confidential agreement last December, say reports.
The European Commission never launched a formal investigation into the matter, and the regulator now considers the case closed.
The Commission continues to investigate a similar case, however, between Motorola Mobility and Samsung Electronics.
