Electronics giant Samsung is reportedly looking to settle charges initiated by the European Commission over patent abuse, according to two unnamed sources. Samsung is accused of abusing its market dominance by blocking competitor Apple from using one of its essential patents used in the manufacturing of mobile phones. Now, sources say Samsung has entered talks with the European Commission to settle the matter after the watchdog launched a query into Samsung last December. One source told reporters that Samsung had been in settlement discussions for “several months,” though both sources noted the development was too premature to make any determinations over the case’s ending.
