France: Probe closed into water servicers, no evidence of collusion found

The European Commission has announced the closure of an investigation into several of France’s largest water and wastewater servicers accused of fixing prices in France. Dawn raids were conducted in 2010 by the Commission at offices of Veolia Environment, Suez Environnement and Saur after complaints that the companies conspired in public tenders for water services. The investigation by the Commission how now been closed with the regulator finding insufficient evidence to carry on with the case. Suez Environnement was, however, fined by the watchdog $10.5 million, reportedly for breaking a seal on an office door closed-off by the Commission during those dawn raids.
