Gene Kimmelman leaves DOJ for human rights organization

The DOJ Antitrust Division’s Chief Counsel for Competition Policy and Intergovernmental Relations, Gene Kimmelman, will be resigning to join Global Partners and Associates, a human rights organization.

    Kimmelman is reportedly the DOJ’s “secret weapon” on antitrust, and was the primary force behind the DOJ’s rejection of the AT&T and T-Mobile merger, as well as the department’s approval of the Comcast-NBC Universal joint venture.
