India: Commission amends Combination Regulations in aim for clarity

The Competition Commission of India has announced that it has made amendments to the Combination Regulation of the nation’s competition law in an effort to simplify filing requirements. According to reports, the amendments have relaxed requirements concerning the filings that must be made by parties looking to partake in an acquisition or merger that is unlikely to hamper competition in the market. Specifically, the changes alter the threshold of when acquisitions must be notified to the CCI. Additional amendments were also made.
