Third-party manufacturer JHSSvendgaard, the onetime maker of Proctor & Gamble’s Tide clothing detergent, is now suing its biggest client for anticompetitive behavior. JHS, which still makes P&G’s toothbrushes and toothpaste, lodged the case with the Competition Commission of India claiming P&G severed Tide ties with JHS even after promising a long-term relationship and after JHS built a plant specifically to make Tide detergent in 2010. The home care giant denies the claims, but JHS asked the CCI to investigate the matter and to reinstate the supply agreement. A response from the CCI was not published in media reports.
