Intel and New York settle for $6.5 million in litigation costs

 |  February 12, 2012

Intel has settled the 2009 lawsuit brought by New York state for $6.5 million. New York had claimed Intel used threats and illegal payments to pressure computer manufacturers to use Intel chips. However, a December 2011 court ruling had greatly narrowed the scope of the case to computer purchases for a three-year period.

The agreement states that Intel does not admit to any wrongdoing and no limitaion will be placed on Intel’s business conduct. The sum is to go toward litigation costs.
