Ireland: Efforts look to promote competition between ports

In efforts to analyze what it calls “limited” competition within Ireland’s ports sector, the Competition Authority has launched a public consultation on the matter. While an initial analysis has already been made by the Authority, the consultation is a way to verify whether those initial findings are in-line with public opinion. The Authority says its goal is to “identify issues for further exploration” and ultimately increase effective competition, specifically within Dublin port, the body said in an official statement.
